Scarlett Johansson recast as Marvel minorities

Marvel fans were stunned earlier this week when Marvel Studios dropped the new trailer for its upcoming film “Avengers: Endgame.” The film picks up after the events of last year’s “Avengers: Infinity War,” following the heroes that the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been establishing across its past 21 installments. Over the years, audiences have fallen in love with both the actors and characters of the franchise. The Marvel movies have breathed new life into the careers of actors like Robert Downey Jr. and made new ones like that of Chris Pratt.

The devastating conclusion of “Infinity War” left many fans confused and concerned about where the series would go from here. Would our heroes return? If they do, would they all?

Some of these concerns have been addressed in this new trailer, teasing the film that will be released at the end of April. The answer to everyone’s questions? Scarlett Johansson.

It would seem that after her success in the widely acclaimed 2017 blockbuster, “Ghost in the Shell,” the film received some backlash for casting Johannsson in what was originally a Japanese story and setting. Accusations of white-washing hit the internet at every turn.

All of the characters have been resurrected from Thanos’ infamous snap, but they have taken the Tom Hardy “Legendary” approach (aka the “Being John Malkovich” or Tyler Perry strategy) and cast Johansson as every diverse character and recast her original character, Black Widow, as Danny DeVito.

That’s right! American treasure Johansson will be playing everyone, from Gamora to the entire cast of “Black Panther.” It’s a bold move that could have easily gone awry, but it seems like Marvel knows what they’re doing.

Fan reactions poured in through the floodgates of Twitter with an ironically diverse array of takes.

“I like scarjo she so hot glad i get to see her on screen more :P,” @mensrightsrock69, an excited fan, tweeted about the news.

“hell yeah thats awesome im glad shes getting this opportunity shes gonna kill it. Lupita Nyongo suxxx,” @whereswhitehistorymonth said in a similar vein.

Other fans were pretty upset. “What the fuccc?? This is some marvel bullshit ofc. DC would never do this because DC rules. Batman >>>>>>,” @batmanana tweeted.

“what are you doing @Marvel. Scarjo isn’t even hot y not margot robbie or megan fox SKSKJCSNAOXSJNXSOP,” @chikmagnetboi, a concerned fan, wrote.

Some have raised concerns about this being a ridiculous and unnecessary move for the franchise, but honestly, I don’t get why they’re upset. They should honestly just shut up and stop complaining all the time. That’s what’s wrong with the world today: everyone is so negative. Everyone but me who is extremely positive and progressive and loves everything.

Actors are supposed to become people that they are not. That’s the beauty of acting. It’s not Johansson’s fault if she’s the best person to play the African King of Wakanda and Black Panther, T’Challa. She’s going to bring her own unique perspective to the role, and she earned it by being the best person for it. Jesus. Why do you hate women so much? Danny DeVito is cool though.
