Welcome back to The Rectangle’s Pickle Review Corner! Today we will be reviewing the “Heinz Genuine Whole Dill Pickle.” Three of our expert pickle critics will taste the pickles, break them down by category and give a closing statement.
Sam:
Well right out of the gate, when cracking open the jar, I was hit with a pleasant surprise. The smell of vinegar was right on the money in terms of strength. You want notes of white vinegar and pickling spice, but nothing too strong.
The pickles are whole, as the name suggests, and not cut into wedges. This is good because cutting them before canning can cause the pickle to become soggy. The first bite is hit with a lovely satisfying crunch. Great chew, and the dill flavor comes through easily. Not too strong, right on the money.
My only note would be that they are a touch on the salty side, but that is really down to personal taste. I really enjoyed this pickle, and would definitely go back for seconds. Let’s see what Pickle Paul and Sophia have to say about them!
Sophia:
When I think of the perfect snack to enjoy on a warm spring day, I think of nothing other than Heinz Genuine Whole Dill Pickles. As soon as I opened the jar, I knew that this was going to be the pickle experience of a lifetime. They were green. Very green. Vinegar wafted through the air as soon as the lid was removed from the jar. My first thought was, “Wow, those cucumbers are pickled for sure!” Now, moving on to the cut of the pickles. These are whole pickles. They are not wannabe pickles like these other cuts such as spears or slices. They are the real deal.
Upon biting into the pickle, I was hit with a mix of a salty and sour flavor. Predictable, yet reliable. Heinz could never steer me wrong, it seems. The crunch could be heard from miles away. It was such a crisp crunch that my roommate came running into the kitchen to see what all the commotion was about. I told her, “Oh, sorry. I was just eating a Heinz Genuine Whole Dill Pickle.” She asked if she could have one. I said, “lol no.” She’ll get over it.
The last thing I want to say about this pickle is that I feel it is truly genuine. I think I could talk to this pickle about anything. It would be there to help me solve any problem. That’s just the kind of friend a Heinz Genuine Whole Dill Pickle is. Now, onto Pickle Paul!
Pickle Paul:
I hated it.
